ON THE OCCASION OF THE 54. INTERNATIONAL ART EXHIBITION - LA BIENNALE DI VENEZIA, THE PINO PASCALI MUSEUM FOUNDATION, IN COLLABORATION WITH APULIA REGION, PROMOTES AN EXHIBITION-EVENT TO CELEBRATE PINO PASCALI, THE SCULPTURE PRIZE WINNER AT THE 1968 BIENNALE.
A THREE-SECTION EXHIBITION, PROVIDING AN OVERVIEW OF THE RECENT CULTURAL AND ARTISTIC ACTIVITY IN APULIA, BETWEEN INNOVATION AND DISCOVERY OF THE LAND.
The project Pino Pascali. Return to Venice / Apulia Contemporary Art, curated by Rosalba Branà and Giusy Caroppo, features a well-structured exhibition path, set in Palazzo Bianchi Michiel, overlooking the Grand Canal.

Coordinated by Anna D'Elia and Antonio Frugis and accompanied by critical essays by leading experts on the Apulian artist, such as Marco Giusti, Simonetta Lux, Pietro Marino, Jessica Morgan, Marco Tonelli, the exhibition dedicated to PINO PASCALI features important sculptures from both Italian and foreign Museums, along with two-dimensional works, quite unknown to the general public, collages, sceneries, divided by themes, dedicated to Acqua (Water), Africa, Armi (Weapons). For the first time, the Foundation presents unique and unreleased "relics", which are essential for a comprehensive and intimate biographical portrait of the artist.
The exhibition is ideally introduced by three photographers from different generations: Claudio Abate, a friend and eyewitness of the artist's work, Luigi Ghirri, the great Italian photographer who died in 1992, the author of a series of photographs featuring Polignano a Mare, the Apulian native town of Pascali's family, and the emerging Apulian photographer Domingo Milella, the author of an evocative landscape.
The Pino Pascali Prize from 1997 to 2011 is a survey exhibition on the recent history of the Prize, awarded to internationally renowned art personalities, who shared Pascali's experimenting and irreverent spirit, open to language contaminations: Achille Bonito Oliva, Giovanni Albanese, Marco Giusti, Studio Azzurro, Lida Abdul, Adrian Paci, Jan Fabre, Jake & Dinos Chapman, Bertozzi & Casoni (Pino Pascali Prize 2011).
Apulia: A Contemporary Look features works from two different regional institutions: the Collection of the Pino Pascali Museum Foundation and Intramoenia Extra Art.
- The Collection of the Pino Pascali Museum Foundation features works that represent the current Apulian art promoted by the Museum: Cristina Bari, Claudio Cusatelli, Daniela Corbascio, Michele Giangrande, Giampiero Milella, Giuseppe Teofilo.
- Intramoenia Extra Art in the castles and historical palaces of Apulia, the experiment of a diffuse temporary museum, aimed at promoting new forms of cultural tourism, presents international collaborations and specific projects by Stefano Cagol, Miki Carone, Guillermina De Gennaro, Giulio De Mitri, Gao Brothers, Iginio Iurilli, Massimo Ruiu, Virginia Ryan, Francesco Schiavulli, Carlo Michele Schirinzi, Bill Viola.
A specific space is dedicated to publishing and filmography, from the works published by the Pino Pascali Museum Foundation during its many years of activity to documentary videos and a limited edition collection of catalogues of the exhibitions in the castles.
